Can a relationship change from great, to good, to bad, to worst, back to good again? Why?

I believe it can; but it depends on the individuals in the relationship deciding that they want to change themselves and not the other person in the relationship. Most ppl will adapt when they see change in another. Most relationships don't heal because someone or both are unwilling to change.
